(2) to understand, in an atmosphere of genuine inter-professional learning alongside the Regulators, the factors impacting mental ill-health and suicidality in the medical, veterinary, nursing and dental professions. (3) to explore, with input from the GDC, GMC, NMC and RCVS, the concept of compassionate regulation and to understand how learning together inter-professionally may offer solutions to greater wellbeing in these professions. Understand the issues at the patient (or client)-clinician interface which have taken us from applauding healthcare staff each Thursday evening during COVID, to a time of the highest rates of complaints and referrals to the regulators. Understand the components of compassionate regulation of healthcare professions. Be challenged to implement strategies for change at individual, administrative, regulatory and government levels to improve mental health and wellbeing in healthcare, thus reducing rates of suicide.
